Ekaterina Webb - Womenswear designer
As part of my family upbringing; I grew up observing my grandmother sew and create garments, watching her turn a piece of fabric from nothing into something special. This inspired me to choose the career path that I want to follow today.
I am recent fashion design graduate from Birmingham City University. I have recently showcased and created my first collection in London. As family is important to me I chose to look in my culture and my Russia's past. While visiting Russia for research I knew there was a lot rich history that people don't know about and how it the country it is today. Although we are currently living in a very political world I wanted to still continue with this path.
University gave me a great opportunity to experiment with fabric, I wanted to create something unique but a touch of luxury. I also believe it is not necessary to use animals within fashion. This is the 21st Century; scientist and designers have invented fabric which can replace fur and skin.
